Should I ever reduce my testosterone?
If you are on testosterone, you can safely remain on your full dose medication for life. Never reduce your testosterone without supervision from your medical providers.
If you reduce your testosterone while you still have female reproductive organs, your menstrual cycle will usually begin again after reducing your testosterone.
If you needlessly reduce your testosterone, you will also run an increased risk for osteoporosis (brittle bones).
Your testosterone dose (injections or pellets) should be maintained to provide you approximately 250ml every 14-21 days, for life. Only the oral (by mouth) form of testosterone is processed by your liver.
Injectable and pellet forms of testosterone are not processed by your liver and are designed for life-long administration.
