Lowering your risks on testosterone

There are two immediate ways to reduce many of the risks of testosterone and they apply to all men with testosterone in their bodies.

Stop Smoking. Smoking limits your body’s ability to take in the testosterone and make use of its full effect. Smoking places enormous stress on the heart and the entire cardio-vascular (heart and blood vessels) system.

Reduce or stop alcohol intake. Alcohol will reduce your liver’s ability to process the testosterone. Alcohol (more than 14 standard drinks in a week – or more than two a day) can also destroy the cells that make up the liver leading to serious damage or liver cancer.

  • Smoking will limit your body’s ability to use the testosterone.
  • Alcohol will reduce your liver’s ability to process the testosterone.

The intended effects of testosterone hormone therapy can be maximised and the dangers minimised.
