The
newsletter of FTMA Australia (MTRA) -
TORQUE - is committed to publishing information
specific to the experience of members as well as
providing information and education on the
concerns and queries of the membership.
TORQUE's
primary goal is to share information, report
news and activities of FTM Australia
to the membership.
TORQUE is the
most significant tool in the communication
strategy of
FTM Australia.
Objectives
- To promote
FTM Australia to the membership and
communities of interest as well as agencies
and service providers.
- To maintain
an informed community about current
activities, notices and developments.
- To provide
information about health, service providers,
and other services of relevance to the
community.
- To provide a
forum for feedback, debate and participation
by the community.
- To
facilitate an exchange of ideas between the
various communities of interest within
FTM Australia.
- To offer
education and information to the community
regarding the variety of personal, social,
surgical, hormonal and physical options and
empowering individuals to make informed
decisions for their own well being.
- To support
the overall communication strategy that is an
integral part of FTM Australia.
Form
Short
articles are most appropriate (a maximum of
1,500 words).
The text should
be concrete and detailed enough so that readers
from many different backgrounds will be able to
relate to the ideas that are
presented.
Photographs
(black and white or colour), drawings or
cartoons help to make our newsletter more
readable and are welcome. Originals can be
returned if requested.
We hope that
information in TORQUE will be shared with and
used by as many as possible. There are no
copyright restrictions but request that if
reprinted the source is acknowledged.
Level
The
readers of TORQUE, include local leaders, peer
education and support workers, community
members; students; and service providers to the
community.
In order to
encourage the exchange of ideas between the
different communities of interest, all of which
have something important to contribute, the use
of simple straight forward, concrete language is
required, rather than academic or abstract
language.
Frequency
TORQUE is
issued in four editions per volume, four times a
year.
