Hi there, I’m the new guy, only 17 and from the land of the long white cloud. It is widely believed that music can alter moods and even talk to you, getting lost in the lyrics or the beat.

Most people even believe that baroque period classical music can make you smarter and is commonly used when studying for exams, or played to women’s stomachs to the baby inside to help develop brain functioning.

I love music, and want to share my passion to anyone who wants to listen. Transition at whatever stage or process is stressful in everyway possible. The dulcet tones of music are here to lull your woes away, or rock out your anger, techno your mood into bouncy overdrive and have you air guitaring in no time.

Had a rough day at work? Stuck in traffic? Seem like everything is just not going right? If it’s soothing you need, close your eyes and drift away into Coldplay’s most recent album titled ‘X&Y’. Every track is sure to soothe and inspire with great lyrics and smooth beats and tunes. The world wide acclaimed band are known for this style of music and have sold millions of albums over the years. If one style isn’t your thing, compilations such as ‘Lazy Sunday’ or any acoustic tracks will be sure to do the trick just as well.

Stressed out from the day-to-day routine and what it holds? Frustrated and ready to blast off at the drop of a pin so you can let out all that built up anger. Then you need to rock it out! Not fight it out! And though I personally like most music, I’m a rock man mainly. There are hundreds of bands out there, new and old who can have you rocking out your frustration. A few leading examples from the charts recently are ‘fallout boy’, ‘panic at the disco’ and many more, anything with distortional guitar and a fast beat to get the adrenaline pumping. Crank it up (but not too loud, or you will damage your hearing guys), sing along, jump around, air guitar or scream into your pillow, just let go to make you feel better, take it out the right way.

A recent release of rock music is the ‘Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ new album ‘Stadium Arcadium’. With 3 hits on the NZ charts (sorry oz guys I don’t know about yours) and rave reviews worldwide, this 2 CD set is flying off the shelves. It features songs to rock out to, chill to or just have in the background at a BBQ. A personal rating of 5 out of 5 for music and lyrics, its well worth a listen.
